Deadly Interstate Accident in Tampa - May 26, 2021

In Tampa today, the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a deadly crash at southbound Interstate 275 and Interstate 4 just after 3 a.m. Wednesday. FHP reported the 34-year-old driver missed the curve and his pickup truck slammed into a guardrail and flipped on its side. The driver was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. A passenger suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Troopers shut down the ramp into downtown Tampa to allow crews to tow away the pickup, but the ramp has since reopened.
